Where to begin In the beginning, you will have to make sure you know what you motivations are. Try to make time and browse through anti-smoking materials for more weeks, so you know how bad your habit is. You will be rewarded with a desire and a motivation that can move mountains and pass any obstacles. - You will not be considered a risk factor for strokes or cancer.

- You will have more energy and you will love life more.

- You will now have money to buy yourself that perfume you always wanted.

Write down everything that happens when you quit No one can make you do anything, except yourself. If you have a journal where you note down all your reasons and desires, you will have a place to return when you feel like giving up.

In this journal, you can provide answers to questions like: How did smoking affected and influenced your life so far? How can you change your life? How to deal with smokers in your home and at the office? Why does smoking give you pleasure? What are the things you hate about cigarettes? Is there anyone you can count on if you decide to quit? What are the benefits you foresee? Decide upon a precise quitting date

The sooner, the better. If you delay the date and do not want to specify a clear day when you are going to quit you risk loosing your enthusiasm. Better think of a period that is not very stressful Make a program for the first few days. These are the hardest days and if you don’t have many responsibilities, you’d better choose either a few days off or some heavy days in which you know that because of the tight schedule you won’t have the time to think about cigarettes.

During the first days, some persons prefer being overloaded and doing every minute something else. Others prefer sleeping. What to do during these few days is a thing we decide alone. Even sleeping for a long time can help. The addiction symptoms, felt during these few days, are intense, but they last for a short period of time. It’s only part of the long process you need to go through if you want to return to living a normal life. You can quit smoking in the end, and you will learn to love the person you’ll become without the addiction chains to surround you.
